Mark Searle - Head Professional
I was born into a very successful golfing family on June 21st 1982 and by the age of 3 had already taken up the game of golf at High Post.
I was educated at Embley Park School. At age 19, I was awarded a golf scholarship to Tennessee State University, where I attained a BSc in Human Performance and Sport Science. During this time I represented my college golf team and played competitive golf in the southern states of the USA
Junior/Men’s Golf
From the age of 13 I represented Wiltshire at junior level and won the South West Boys Championship (2000) and Wiltshire Colts Championship in 1999 and 2000.
From the age of 15 I went on to represent Wiltshire at senior level for 9 years, lowering my handicap to +3 in the process. I won two Men’s County Championships and in 2005, won the South West Men’s Strokeplay, was Wiltshire Team Shield individual winner and equalled my father’s course record at High Post while winning the Club Championship. In 2006 I defended my High Post club championship and went on to break the amateur course record shooting 65 at Walton Heath’s old course in the South of England Amateur.
Professional Golf
In 2007 I turned professional and joined the Jamega Tour where I achieved two runner up finishes. In 2008 I got to the final stage of European Tour Qualifying School in Spain which enabled me to gain European Challenge Tour status and entry into the European Tour events in New Zealand and Russia.
In 2011 I completed the PGA qualification. As a PGA trainee I was named assistant of the year by the West Region and came runner up in the Titleist Footjoy Order of Merit. Having competed across all tours and chalking up over 10 pro victories most notably in the West Region Championship at Cumberwell where I claimed first place which included a first round 61 -10 (course record that still stands today). I took the head professional role at High Post in 2018. It has been a great journey so far and in 2023 I was awarded the accolade of PGA West Region Captain. I am looking forward to many more years in the industry and thank you all for your continued support.
Dan Radley - PGA Professional
I joined High Post at a very young age having been inspired by watching my first golfing hero, Payne Stewart, on TV. I spent most of my teenage years on the practice range at High Post, playing in Wiltshire Golf events and representing Wiltshire at boy’s level. At age 17 I attended The Golf College in Sussex where Denis Pugh was one of the main coaches. However, it wasn’t until I turned Professional and started to gain more of an understanding of the golf swing, I felt my golf really started to improve.
Despite my 25+ year association with High Post, I have spent some time working elsewhere. Having spent a couple of years playing on mini tour events to gain playing experience I decided to start my PGA training degree out of Birmingham University whilst based at Wellow Golf Club in Hampshire. I loved my time at Wellow and I was a fully qualified PGA Professional by the time I returned to High Post in early 2017.
During the past 7 years I have continued to compete infrequently on the PGA South West Region circuit with one professional win to my name in 2017. You will mostly find me in the Professional shop or providing tuition services to our members. I like to think I have gained a good reputation over the years for my teaching skills and I always strive to improve my knowledge to further help our members.
Corey Sheppard - PGA Professional
I gravitated towards golf at an early age with my dad being a very good golfer himself and became a member at High Post Golf Club at age 9.
At 15 years old I got down to a scratch handicap and was fortunate enough to represent Wiltshire County from U14 to Men’s first-team level. In 2014 I attended Lee University in Tennessee, USA, on a golf scholarship and obtained a Sports Management Degree.
In 2019 I turned professional back in the UK and played on the PGA Europro Tour as well as numerous other mini tours. In 2021, I was a winner on the Clutch Pro Tour, and in recent years have won multiple PGA regional events. This included a runner-up finish in the South West PGA Order of Merit in 2022. My dream has always been to play at the highest level on the DP World Tour, which I am still chasing today.
In 2020 I began my PGA training under Mark Searle and have recently graduated in 2024 as a fully trained PGA Professional. I was extremely pleased to be awarded the PGA South West Year 3 Trainee of the Year in 2024, as well as a top 10 award in the 2024 graduating class.
High Post has always been a part of my life and my goal is always to give members/visitors the best experience possible. I am very passionate about coaching the game and love helping golfers at any level to improve.
